IFAD INNOVATION NETWORK

The IFAD Innovation Network is an informal, democratic, non-hierarchical space to share ideas, good practices, tools and lessons learned on how members can use innovation to improve performance and better address the needs and challenges of our target groups and beneficiaries.

This group is open to IFAD staff, representatives of IFAD's members, fellow United Nations and Development Finance Institutions colleagues, representatives of academia, research centres, think tanks and the private sector, and those who wish to contribute to advancing innovation for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

IFAD INNOVATION TALKS

IFAD Innovation Talks are a series of public learning and knowledge sharing sessions, lasting one hour. They feature innovative approaches, tools, products and services developed by IFAD, its partners and the members of the IFAD Innovation Network in order to further the aims of this Community of Practice. The Talks follow various formats: from interviews and panel discussions to TEDx talks and demonstrations of new technological tools. 2023 IFAD INNOVATION DAY: How to make innovation and impact investments work for the rural poor.

The Innovation Day is a forum that brings together high-level representatives and international experts from IFAD's Member States, the private sector, academia, research organizations, civil society, United Nations agencies and other multilateral organizations.

Together they will showcase progress, opportunities and areas where strategic partnerships and co-financing could scale up innovation and enhance impact in order to find out: how to make innovation and impact investments work for the rural poor.

Get inspired this year during exciting plenary sessions, the interactive marketplace – showcasing the latest innovative solutions and the IFAD-EIIS Certificate Programme – and at the vibrant Pitch Event featuring the IFAD Innovation Challenge finalists.

2022 IFAD INNOVATION DAY

On 21 June 2022, Innovation Day kicked off the IFAD’22 Conference on “Jobs, innovation and value chains in the age of climate change: bridging the gap between research and policy”. Innovation Day brought together 74 speakers representing the Governments of Colombia, Finland, Italy, Israel, Kenya, and the United States, and top executives from the public and private sector, academia, civil society, research organizations, international financial institutions and international organizations to share knowledge on how to originate, pilot, test, and scale innovative solutions. Engaged audiences joined Innovation Day in-person, via Zoom, social media, and the TV and radio programmes of event media partner and patron RAI Italian Television – in addition to other media.
